MakerBay Foundation collaborates with various schools and institutions to host no-code courses to build their portfolios while enhancing competitiveness in the job market. The no-code course held in collaboration with the HKMA David Li Kwok Po College not only trained students with hands-on skills but also empowered them to create solutions successfully applied on campus.
The resurgence of maker culture in 2005 seems to respond to the increasing demand for environmental protection, encouraging people to make their own products and practice sustainable living. This trend has also brought about a new teaching approach, allowing students to demonstrate creativity and problem-solving through hands-on projects. Summer holiday is a great opportunity for students to learn various skills and explore their interests. This summer, 9 students from different universities and secondary schools participated in the DBS Foundation InnoFuture Youth Programme to learn no-code development and create digital solutions such as websites and APPs.

Earlier, we provided a Design Thinking class that consisted of 12 sessions for TWGHs Mr & Mrs Kwong Sik Kwan College, to explore the potential of SEN students. In this class, we guided a group of SEN students to design a mobile coffee cart for Coffee Society.
The “Craftsmanship Community Project in Yau Ma Tei” aims to bring participants to old shops, engage in conversations with the owners and craftsmen, and learn about the stories behind these establishments. Afterwards, we applied maker skills to create a wooden cart that showcases the history and traditional craftsmanship of Yau Ma Tei.
In the past few years, design thinking has become an increasingly prevalent approach to designing curricula and learning experiences that meet users’ needs. “Jockey Club AI Community Innovation Programme – Showcase Day” was successfully held on 25th February. The event featured showcase and demonostration of ideas and products created by programme participants using AI.
