Ms. Shirley Lam

Lead Digital Marketing Specialist

I am a strategic facilitator who communicates design values to help people collaborate and innovate.

In this VUCA world where problems are becoming more complicated than ever, and digital transformation is experienced in different industries, facilitation is the core pillar of my practice to elicit group wisdom from people. My T-shaped experience combines digital marketing, design and communication that allows me to drive changes at different tables:

• Facilitate meetings, cross-country collaboration and large events for healthcare innovation in work. Spanning countries and continents from Australia, Korea, ASEAN, India, Japan and China.

• Design learning experiences for UX education in Hong Kong and delivered training since 2021, including hackathons, boot camps and workshops.

• Volunteer on social projects and startups through strategic planning, value proposition refinement, action plan creation and evaluation.

When I’m not on the job, I enjoy travelling, coffee, art museums, and good books.

Wally is an experienced STEAM Educator and formerly served as the educational lead at Inno Space, an education hub powered by the Hong Kong Productivity Council. He is a doer, agitator and advocate of STEAM education grounded on his beliefs that the future of our society relies on the young generation in which fully engaged and empowered youth can help to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. As an action-driven person, Wally has rolled out a series of virtual STEAM initiatives with local educators and Edu-Tech startups to promote remote learning in local schools during the pandemic, reaching 40,000+ beneficiaries since March 2020.

He is also an enthusiast supporter of entrepreneurship among university students and recent graduates, especially in the field of Edu-Tech, Engineering and Social Innovation. By actively reach out to startups & makers communities, he has engaged 100+ startups and inventors to translate their ideas into industrial designs, prototypes and products so they can turn concepts into reality.

Wally is currently the curriculum lead of the HKFYG Jockey Club Media 21 (M21), a digital skill transformation centre based in Aberdeen. Proactive in anticipating rising and transforming educational needs, he takes initiative to go beyond the expected parameters of a local service centre to implement the idea of social design throughout the learning journey. He believes a youth centre shall add vibrancy, vigour and velocity to the neighbourhood, as well as to enable youth to receive professional digital transformation training and incubation, gather to explore new ideas and invigorate the district.
