Talk: “Moth at large” Jim des Rivieres, Apr 21

The Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao, National Geographic and MakerBay invite you to a talk by Canadian artist Jim des Rivières describing his artistic and adventurous journey to bring moths to light, both metaphorically and physically. Illustrated with works from Jim’s Canadian moth series.

Jim des Rivières’s photography (http://moths.ca/) connects the viewer with the hidden beauty all around us, which we only see when we take the time to look closely.

Moths are a common part of our natural environment, but their nocturnal habits mean that they seldom come to our attention. Jim’s large high-resolution images of moths open up a marvelous world of intricate shapes, structures, and colors. Jim will also discuss his new Hong Kong moth project.
