Mother teaches math to her kids while cleaning the beach

Amazing mother and environmentalist Jo Wilson teaches her kids maths by collecting cigarette butts on their local beach, counting and doing some calculation. Together with the villagers of Yung Shue Wan Beach (Hong Kong) they collected:

  • 2119 butts (in a day!), that’s…
  • 106 packets
  • 6254 HKD
  • 3,178,500 HKD of unpaid fines for littering

The kids are rather unimpressed with the adults littering their beach but impressed how much fine it could represent – if the law was enforced.

How do you feel about this?
“What is around the corner from where you live?”
Kudos to all the volunteers that keep coming back!
