To bridge the gap between the younger generation and the elderly, and improve access to the arts for low-income groups, Cantonwide offers affordable and high-quality local arts and cultural activities, centering around the widely appreciated Cantonese Opera.

The project offers an extensive range of affordable and high-quality local arts and cultural activities, consisting of Cantonese Opera appreciation sessions, film screenings, workshops, and the involvement of industry professionals sharing their insights. Through the preservation of local cultural heritage, Cantonese Opera acts as a bridge for communication, diminishing intergenerational gaps, promoting mutual understanding, and mitigating issues of isolation across generations.

The project uses Cantonese Opera, which is loved by many elders as a theme to hold a variety of arts and cultural activities, including Cantonese Opera appreciation sessions, film screenings, workshops, and industry professionals sharings. These activities not only provide quality cultural experience, but also acts as an opportunity for communication between generations, diminishing intergenerational gaps, promoting mutual understanding, and preserving local heritage.

Brainy Training Kit

Aging, Health Care

Dementia is an irreversible condition. By 2040, one in three people will be elderly. In 2039, more than 330,000 people in Hong Kong are expected to be diagnosed with dementia. With a team of registered occupational therapists, Brainy Training Kits uses their professional knowledge to design a training kit for people with dementia. The goal is to slow the progression of the disease and alleviate the burden on caregivers and medical staff.

Ms. Angie Zhou

Education Specialist

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Angie Zhou is an Education Specialist at MIT App Inventor. She was the founder and CEO of Dreams Come True in Shenzhen, where she developed online coding courses for kids. She also has previous curriculum development, teaching and staff training experience at First Code Academy in Hong Kong.
